Watch The Eagles of Death Metal Talk About The Paris Attacks For The First Time

“Our friends went there to see rock ‘n’ roll and died, I wanna go back there and live.”

-Jesse Hughes

Vice has released their full interview with The Eagles of Death Metal, the band who was on stage during the horrific attacks at The Bataclan concert hall in Paris where 90 people lost their lives.

Beginning to end, it’s a difficult watch, but there is a visible strand of hope and unity that runs through the entire 26 minute interview.  This band, these musicians: Jesse Hughes, Josh Homme, Julian Dorio, Eden Galindo and Matt McJunkins were front and center for a nightmarish scenario of brutal physical and visceral violence and yet they’re all refusing to let this event destroy the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.  The Band’s co-founder Jesse Hughes stated,

We want to be the first band to play the Bataclan when it opens back up…Our friends went there to see rock ‘n’ roll and died, I want to go back there and live
