The new single comes with the announcement of the group’s sophomore album, “Good Grief” out March, 11th on Mom + Pop Music.
The quintet, known for the remarkable, swirling harmonies of founding members and lead vocalists, Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe, made waves in the independent realm and beyond with their debut album, “Wildewoman” in 2013. Relentless touring followed as the group cultivated their reputation for being one of the best live bands currently circumnavigating the globe. The harmonies of Laessig and Wolfe coalesce so seamlessly on “Wildewoman” that the two singers now share a singular vocal identity. Lucius’ sound combines alt-pop hooks with big drums, and sweeping, silky harmonies – they can overwhelm you with power in one moment and expertly pluck at your heart in another.
Their new single, “Born Again Teen” slides a bit more into the pop stratosphere than most of the tracks on “Wildewoman” but it still feels like a natural extension of where Lucius was heading.
